I, personally, would not pay a penny more than $380 for that car. Top is most likely shot to hell and rusted through because it’s the vinyl top, which over time, harbors water. Guy is pretty much insane for asking four grand for it. Knowing these cars, this one is a good starting point if you’re looking to do a complete rotisserie restoration of the car, and have the money ($40-50k) to do so. If it’s rusted through on those panels in the front, I’d assume that almost every single part of the body is going to need rust attention to it, if not the frame as well. Most of the floorpan is going to be rotted out by this point as well, those rust quicker than anything else on those cars. I’d say you’re going to put about $10k ballpark into just getting it running, driving, and stopping, if it’s been sitting for that long in that condition.
To the owner, I say;
